Crafting Tomorrow's Spaces Today
Look, we're not gonna tell you we're reinventing the wheel here. We started Krython Realms back in 2012 because frankly, we were tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter designs pop up across Toronto. Buildings that looked good on paper but didn't really think about the people using them or the planet we're all sharing.
What makes us different? We actually give a damn about sustainability - not just slapping some solar panels on a roof and calling it green. We're talking about the whole package: how a building breathes, how it uses water, where materials come from, and yeah, whether it'll still make sense fifty years down the road.
We've worked on everything from cozy residential projects where families actually want to spend time together, to commercial spaces that don't feel like soul-crushing office boxes. Each project teaches us something new, and honestly, that's what keeps this interesting.
Our team's a mix of architects, designers, and sustainability nerds who've been doing this long enough to know what works and what's just trendy nonsense. We're based on Queen West, and yeah, we love this city.
Three principles that guide everything we do
Buildings aren't just boxes to fill. They're living spaces that shape how people feel and interact. We design with real human behavior in mind, not just abstract concepts. If it doesn't work for the people using it every day, it's not good architecture - period.
Going green shouldn't mean settling for less. We've proven time and again that sustainable buildings can be stunning, functional, and cost-effective. It takes more upfront thinking, sure, but the results speak for themselves. Plus, you know, the whole saving-the-planet thing.
Every site has a story - the neighborhood, the climate, the culture. We don't drop the same design everywhere and hope it sticks. What works in downtown Toronto won't work the same way somewhere else. We listen to the site first, then design accordingly.
The folks behind the blueprints
Principal Architect
Founded the studio after getting fed up with conventional firms. LEED AP certified and won't shut up about passive house design.
Design Director
Twenty years in the game. Brings the creative vision and keeps us from designing buildings that look like every other building.
Sustainability Lead
Makes sure we walk the walk on green building. Has an answer for everything when it comes to energy efficiency and materials.
Project Manager
Keeps the trains running on time. Somehow manages to coordinate contractors, clients, and our team without losing his mind.
How we got here
Started in a tiny office with just three of us and more coffee than sense. First project was a residential renovation that taught us more about real-world constraints than any textbook ever did.
Landed our first commercial building - a mixed-use development in the Annex. It was chaotic, stressful, and absolutely worth it. Set the foundation for everything that came after.
Completed our first LEED Platinum project. That's when we realized sustainable design wasn't just something we cared about - it was gonna be our thing. No turning back after that.
Grew to a team of fifteen. Moved into our current studio space on Queen West. Finally had room to spread out and do things properly.
Over fifty completed projects across Ontario. Still learning, still pushing boundaries, still fighting for better buildings. The work continues.
Honestly? Because we'll treat your project like it matters. We're not the biggest firm in Toronto, but that's kinda the point. You won't get passed off to junior staff while the principals disappear.
We're hands-on from day one. Sarah or Marcus will be at your initial meetings, not just the kickoff photo op. We'll ask questions that might seem weird at first but end up mattering a lot. And when challenges pop up - because they always do - we'll work through them together.
Our clients stick with us because we listen more than we talk, we're straight-up about costs and timelines, and we deliver buildings that actually work the way they're supposed to. Plus, we're pretty nice to hang out with during those long design sessions.
